Noted Writers Festival is an independent celebration of words and writing for anyone and everyone who loves to write. One of the newest additions to Canberra’s cultural calendar – Noted is a writers festival with a twist that is not to be missed.
In 2015, Noted writers’ festival staged Canberra’s first writers’ festival in five years, and its first ever writers’ festival with an explicit commitment to emerging and experimental writing from diverse backgrounds. Now, in our second year, Noted are ready—and thrilled—to return. An offshoot of You Are Here, Noted is a chance for writers, readers, publishers, the undefined and the interested to participate in the rejigging of the writers festival format. Featuring authors, poets, journalists, publishers, editors, dancers, zinemakers, visual artists and more, Noted will be better in ways even we don’t yet understand. Find bios of all artists here.
In 2016, Noted will stage more than sixty free panels, AMAs, workshops and children’s events in city cafés, galleries, pubs and arts centres. Highlights include a literary art exhibition and festival opening at ANU Foyer Gallery, a conversation with our partner The Stella Prize, including the announcement of the first ever ACT Stella Schools Ambassador, a four-venue literary bar hop, including LOLs, book swaps and a Seizure-led writing challenge, and what we believe may be Canberra’s largest ever Independent Publishing Fair, with events for adults and children throughout. See the full program here.
Noted's website is archived by the National Library of Australia on Pandora, you can see past sites here.
