Workshop: Improving the Lines of your Poetry // Paul Magee

In this workshop Paul Magee (Associate Professor of Poetry at University of Canberra, author of Cube Root of Book & Stone Postcard) will get you to focus on individual lines, so as to think about what a line does in its own right, and how each can be made better. 

How to apply: Please include a haiku with your application. Successful applicants will be asked to bring along four haikus to the workshop. Email applications to with 'Poetry' in the subject line.

Here's some haiku advice from Paul: Please ignore syllable counts. Just treat them as 3 line poems. For a further idea of how to do this, try, in sequence and by line, to 1. Take us somewhere, 2. Focus us in on what's there and 3. Take us somewhere else altogether (but in relation to the same material you touched on in 2 & 3).
